About this piece

Moroccan pattern work is some of the most disciplined geometry in the world, and this piece takes that vocabulary somewhere looser — keeping the rhythm and the repetition, letting the edges and colour behave more freely than tradition would allow.

At 24 by 48 inches it is a tall, narrow format, which makes it genuinely useful: it fits the awkward vertical spaces most art cannot: beside a doorway, between two windows, up a stairwell, or in a narrow hallway.
